How to Outsmart the Midwest Winter
A 60-degree day followed by a 30-degree snap is classic Cincinnati spring. When is it actually safe to start planting?
"It is a snowy spring - should I wait before beginning my landscaping?" Absolutely. In the Midwest, a beautiful, bright weekend can be followed by a snowstorm, and seeds planted the day before can be destroyed by snow and wind.
Know the weather ahead of time, and know what the week after looks like. If it is 60 degrees one day and 30 the next, do not plant anything.
Each plant you are interested in growing has a climate it needs to fully blossom into something beautiful. You cannot plant summer seeds in frozen mulch - it simply is not the same. Happy growing!
