How to outsmart the midwest winter

“It’s a Snowy Spring! Should I Wait Before Beginning My Landscaping?”
Absolutely. Though yesterday was a beautiful and bright day, we have to be aware that we are in the Midwest. Today, the first weekend of Spring, there is a snow storm heading toward Cincinnati. Anyone who had planted any seeds yesterday could have their Spring gardens destroyed by snow and wind.
Know the weather ahead of time and know what it is going to look like the week after. If it is 60 degrees one day and 30 the next, do not plant anything. Each crop or plant you are interested in growing has a type of climate it needs to fully blossom into something beautiful. You cannot plant summer seeds in frozen mulch, it simply is not the same.
Happy Growing!
